The artist behind this creationJohn Sheehan Snr is the founder of Mountain Jade, taking it from its humble roots in his single-man workshop to one of the leading establishments of handcrafted jade carvings in New Zealand. His vision is to support local artists, whilst also creating an interactive space to learn about the traditions and history of pounamu. John’s wife, Margaret, has the same shared passion and is a skilled hand in producing her own contemporary pieces.
